After over a decade of experience in international investment banking working with some of the largest companies in the world, Christopher Kelly is currently the chief financial officer and managing director for the New York-based tech startup droppTV. Originally from the United Kingdom, Kelly specialized in structured derivatives during his time in the investment banking sector, working with Goldman Sachs in London and Credit Suisse in Switzerland. After leaving investment banking Kelly advised on several commodities projects in West Africa in partnership with SNC-Lavalin, as well as working with Mid-Atlantic Energy Services to raise capital for a substantial international oil and gas construction project in the Caribbean.

Kelly has developed a reputation in his career for his ability to bring ideas to life. He has been known to encourage the Socratic method of “posit and defend” amongst his teams, welcoming any “crazy” idea so long as it stands up to scrutiny and can be properly defended. At droppTV, an artificial intelligence-powered digital platform, he has overseen the corporate financial strategy for the company, proving instrumental in facilitating innovation while also ensuring they are set up for financial success in the competitive startup world. In less than a year of operations the company has quadrupled its staff, and thanks to Kelly’s leadership, raised over $12.5 million in its series A funding round and began its series B round in 2021.
